Media stored on ELEMENTS can now be enriched by Moments Lab’s AI. You can search your catalog for what is actually in the footage, and find it in both of the places your teams work: the ELEMENTS Media Library, and Moments Lab.

It fixes something media teams have put up with for years. You can store and manage enormous amounts of content, but finding one specific moment inside it has always meant searching a filename, getting back a list of files, and having someone sit and watch them until they spot the bit you wanted.

How it works

ELEMENTS is the system more and more production teams are adopting to store and manage their valuable media content. Fast shared storage, the Media Library on top to manage and version everything, workflow automation, and panels that drop it all into the tools editors already use.

ELEMENTS customers have been able to add AI to that workflow for a while now. What is new here is the kind of AI. Instead of generic, off-the-shelf metadata, Moments Lab is tailored to the specific shows a production company, studio or broadcaster has across its catalog.

ELEMENTS sends us a proxy, and our AI watches it properly, describing the scenes, the dialogue, the faces and the action as they go. It knows your characters, your formats and the kinds of moments your editors actually go looking for, so what comes back is the punchline or the reveal rather than a generic highlight. All of it is indexed down to the moment, and then it flows back into ELEMENTS.

Craft editors access it in the ELEMENTS Media Library and panel inside Premiere to create premium content like microdramas and trailers. They search for what is in the picture instead of a filename, and drag the clips they want onto the timeline.

Digital, social and marketing teams source the same content from the Moments Lab platform. They describe what they are after in a prompt, get moments back rather than a list of files, and build the clips that feed their digital channels.

What A+E Global Media is doing with it

A+E Global Media is using both platforms together to get more short-form content out of its catalog.

A+E has one of the most recognizable content libraries in North American television, with thousands of hours of finished shows behind History, Lifetime and Vice TV. That media sits on ELEMENTS, where the production teams need it. Moments Lab makes it findable, so the editors can hunt down the beats they are after. Instead of scrubbing through episodes to find them, they search for them and build the compilations, cut-downs and scene lifts that go out on web, mobile and social.
