Leading AI video discovery company Moments Lab is pleased to announce its MXT-2 Custom Moments feature won Product of the Year (AI and Machine Learning category) and Best of Show Awards at the 2025 NAB Show in Las Vegas. MXT-2 is the latest version of the company’s patented multimodal AI indexing technology.
NAB announced the winners of its annual Product of the Year Awards at a live ceremony at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Judged by a panel of industry peers, the awards spotlight some of the most significant and promising new products and technologies exhibited at the show. The Best of Show Awards by Future TV Tech were judged on innovation, feature set, cost efficiency and performance in serving the media & entertainment technology industry.
These awards recognize how Custom Moments and MXT-2 can solve the critical challenge of efficient and accurate video discovery at scale. By automating metadata generation and content classification, MXT-2 multimodal AI saves producers significant time and improves content discovery and repurposing.
Frederic Petitpont, co-founder and CTO at Moments Lab, said:
“Custom Moments’ ability to pinpoint and describe exact moments within vast media libraries generated tremendous excitement in our conversations at NAB. By delivering high-quality metadata, enhanced searchability, and editorial insights, MXT-2 unlocks tangible value for organizations across the media & entertainment industry.”
The MXT-2 model is trained on 1.5 billion images and counting, thanks to Moments Lab research program, enabling the AI to generate detailed and accurate descriptions of video content. Unlike traditional AI tools that rely on generic tags, MXT-2 produces rich, time-coded descriptions of key video moments in a humanlike manner, at a much faster pace than manual media logging.
Designed to quickly find key moments in large video libraries for fast content creation, repurposing, and monetization, Custom Moments enables even more precise pinpointing of video moments. Users can now define exactly how they want a certain type of content to be segmented, be it news, sports, scripted, or unscripted entertainment TV programming.
