About ELEMENTS

ELEMENTS makes shared storage and media management systems for video production. Its storage keeps large video files fast and close to the edit, and its browser-based Media Library lets teams organize, version and share that content and pull it into the editing tools they already use.

Moments Lab and ELEMENTS

Before, your catalog was fast and safe but hard to search. ELEMENTS can tell you which file has something in it. It cannot tell you which 12 seconds you want, so someone still sat and watched episodes to find them. Now Moments Lab indexes that same content moment by moment, tuned to your shows and characters, and those moments come back into the ELEMENTS Media Library and into Premiere Pro as subclips. Your digital team searches the same catalog in Moments Lab and ships more clips a week to more channels, with the team they already have. Nothing gets ripped out to do it: ELEMENTS stays your storage, your high-res files never move, and your editors keep the panel and the workflow they have now.

How it works

The two systems talk over an API, a direct link between software. ELEMENTS starts the exchange and stays your system of record.

What moves, and what stays.‍

Your original files stay on ELEMENTS. Nothing is migrated, deleted or overwritten. ELEMENTS sends Moments Lab a proxy, a small low-resolution copy, plus the metadata it already holds on that file. That is all that crosses, and your metadata stays yours. Moments Lab indexes the proxy shot by shot, tuned to your titles and characters, so a search returns the 12 seconds you want, not a list of files.

Where the moments land.‍

ELEMENTS harvests them back over the API into its Media Library. Your editors search there for what is on screen, not a filename, and pull moments into Adobe Premiere Pro as subclips through the ELEMENTS panel. The same catalog is live in Moments Lab, where your digital and social team searches in plain language, then cuts, subtitles and publishes. That is more clips a week, without another hire.

To set the integration up, talk to your professional services manager at either ELEMENTS or Moments Lab. Inside Moments Lab, roles and permissions set who can see and share which titles, by team and by user.
